Hey Everyone!
Today I have a peek at my first design team project completed with the January Scraps of Darkness Kit "Style and Sophistication"
You can see the kit with all the add on's in their full glory here
I had such a fun time creating this shadowbox with the beautiful Graphic 45 papers "Couture Collection"
I do love to do detailed cutting and Graphic 45 really does provide some of the most graphic papers out there to cut up and reconstruct. I layered the cut out ladies among the florals.
The Graphic 45 collection includes some beautiful chipboard shapes. I have inked and layered them among my ladies. I don't mind covering parts of them or most of them. The goal is to bring in lots layers and color for texture and visual interest.
That beautiful silver bead like lace was included in our kits. I added Dusty Attic chipboard shapes which I cut up and broke apart to suit my needs. I used Lindys Mist to color it. The add on included 4 of Lindy's Mists and I used the blue one on the chipboard. I also added some of the Tim Holtz metal legs to this. It doesn't stand on them. They are just for decorative purposes.
I did a ton of technique work on the box itself. I tore up book pages and adhered them then covered in gesso. The box was misted with 3 Lindy's Mist colors that were in the kit add on. I stamped over all that...hmmm... more gesso applied...stamping then a Prima mask with modeling paste. I also inked over that. The result is a very timeworn patina look.
This was a super fun project to create and a perfect gift for someone who loves fashion don't you think?
Thanks so much for stopping in today! I really appreciate your visits and kind words.
