BIG TOOT FOR SCRAPS OF DARKNESS

AND MORE LAYOUTS WITH THE DECEMBER WINTERS EVE KIT!!!

Check out the Bo Bunny Blog today! Scraps of Darkness and the work the designers have done with their Enchanted line is being featured!!! Woot Woot!!!

I have been on a mojo roll these last few days and have a couple of new layouts to share using the GORGEOUS Enchanted papers from our Winters Eve kit.

Always

I used a piece of Clear Scraps  XL deco shape that I had in my stash as a backdrop. I took one of my Prima Masks and the Lindys Black Orchid mist we received in our Color Add On. I covered the background with the misting. I also colored my Prima mistable canvas pieces in the Black Orichid. It looks gorgeous in real life. So shimmery and a silvery grey. This time I fussy cut those papers. They
were begging me to.

I inked the edges of all the cut pieces in black ink. I dissected Mandy's pin. You know you don't have to use things in the kit as they are. I decided to pull the pin apart. (Sorry Mandy) and I used the netting and the beads in different spots around the layout. I used the cap of the pin for the top of the cut out dress form shape. This photo of my husband and I was taken over this past summer. (Photography credit: Gina Coppollino)

Angelic

I am starting to get into using images for my artwork. Sometimes I have a vision in my head and I need something other than real life photos to play it out. I purchased this one through High Tea Design Etsy
and I love it.

I wanted to go soft and heavenly with the Bo Bunny Paper mixed with the Creative Imagination. I used a tattered rose distress ink around the edges and on the Basic Gray Little Black dress lace stickers.
I also used a subtle Lindys mist on the Kaisercraft gate.
I sewed around the photo and also distressed the edges with my zutter.  Then I inked them in the tattered rose.

Thank you for taking the time to stop by. I appreciate your visiting me and leaving such nice comments.

Happy Holiday week!

I created these Halloween projects to inspire you!!!!

I made this project out of acrylic. I took a square of acrylic, ran it through my cuttlebug with an embossing folder. Then I inked it with alcohol ink and coated it with crackle accents. I printed the Halloween girl image off the site The Graphics Fairy and I coated in crackle!!! I made the distressed black flower as well.

This is a fun layout I did using a combo of past Swirlydoos kits and Pink Paislee papers! I made the flowers out of my TH Tattered floral die! The swirls are a large transparency that I cut up and arranged on the lo!!!

This is a cute little Trick or Treat altered box! I took a box that some chipboard came in from the craft store and decorated it with Pink Paislee papers, Tattered Angels and die cuts!!!!

Another Acrylic Piece

This 12x12 artisan shape acrylic came in our Swirlydoos kit this month! I decided to try another version of using acrylic and used a layer of paper on the background. I actually glued the background to cardboard and then lifted the acrylic off the background with several foam mount dots. I think I am going to frame this piece and hang it rather than book it. :)
I used red smooch ink on the acrylic and inked the edges in black. I used one rub on near the flowers at the top of the page. The papers are from the Mon Amour kit this month. I also used a Dusty attic piece that came in the kit. I made the little striped flowers and the leaves were a digital stamp that I printed and colored with red. I had that leathery ribbon on hand and used that for my bow!
The fabulous photo  was taken by my friend Gina (Gina Coppolino Photography)

Working with acrylic

This is the first time I have done a layout on 12x12 acrylic and I had a BLAST!!!! It took me a while of studying techniques before attempting this. My idol Irene Tan a/k/a scrapperlicious is really the source of inspiration for all things acrylic. I highly recommend having a scrap piece of acrylic to use to practice painting and stamping on before doing the real thing!

This layout titled Fantasy is my dd who had her face painted this past summer.
It's a tad challenging to photograph acrylic because it's clear and you can not really get that transparent effect in a photo. However I did my best.  The edges are painted using an acrylic paint dabber. I used a die cut with a scalloped edge and place it over the acrylic and then painted the edges.
I photoshopped wings on my daughter. The wings came out in purple and teal and look awesome in this photo. Do not ask me how I got that effect. I have no idea. It just happened and I had to copy the wing and flip it for the other side cuz I could not  figure out how to do it again!!!!
I stamped the hearts using cats eye ink.
I used stickles in a purple to detail the paper and the hearts. The paper is a cumulation of leftover Swirly paper, and some prima and BG I had on hand.

I made the big flower and the leaves are a sizzix die. I printed out the butterfly on photo paper. Those are one of Lisa"s a/k/a starsailorscrapper butterflies she shares with us.
It's really not so intimidating once you give it a try. I am already working on another!
Thanks for the visit girls! Have a great day! x0x0
