File Folder Pocket with Tags - Frank Garcia Design Team

Hey Friends! 

 I'm sharing a design team project for the Frank Garcia team. I've created a file folder pocket with tags using the French Riviera Collection. 

I use a regular file folder and trim it down in size. You can make them as large or small as you desire. I sew the side seams together then cut pattern paper down to size for the front and back. 

Many layers were of papers, florals, beads, and textures were used on the front along with misting splatters. I also added my book page fringe and some book page rosette flowers.

Stamping and stenciling using Franks 6 x6 Stencil.

I used embossing powder and paints on the chains for a vintage look.

I topped the pocket off with Franks beautiful Memory Hardware Parisian Leather Paper.

I kept my tags pretty simple for journaling and photos. I topped some off with chipboard starfish that I painted and embossed. The others were topped with a book page rosette.

Just a quick share today on behalf of the Frank Garcia Design Team....

A new tag featuring Tales of You and Me.....

I layered the Tales Of You and Me pattern paper amid florals, chipboard and ephemera...

My latest obsession as you have seen is adding book page rosette flowers that I make with a Tim Holtz Die and book page fringe just made with fringe scissors...

The cute little chipboard girl from the Tales of You and Me Chipboard pack and the cute wood butterfly from The Archivist Wood Icons make a great pair!

Shabby details in the zig zag machine stitching, seam ribbon bow and beautiful Memory Hardware Trims tucked in. I've used the Monpazier Gilded Trim and the Cours Mirabeau Floral Lace...

Topping each book page rosette off with the little numbers from the Tales of You and Me Ephermera Pack. I've thrown in some Victorian Christmas Florals as well. Love how you can mix so many collections together with Franks products!

If you have been a follower of mine you know I like to do the "unexpected" and use products in a way that deviates from the traditional. I COULD create a layout, card, tag or mini album but this time around I thought I would do something a little quirky. I've taken Franks " The Archivist" collection and added some art doll fun on these ATC's.

These are super fun to create and trade with other artist friends.

I started off each ATC with a base sheet cut to size from The Archivist 6 x 6 Paper Pad. I then used The Archivist note cards as my next layer. Some pieces of the note cards were cut up and layered under the art dolls. I stamped each ATC with the Cartographer Clear Stamp. 

I used The Archivist Brads and the Eiffel Tower from The Archivist Wood Icons on the front of my art doll. 

This one eyed beauty has The Archivist Wood Icon magnifying glass painted and embossed over her eye!

I painted and embossed the Memory Hardware Villeneauve Antique Rings and added them randomly on this doll.  I splashed drops of Bloom Sprays in Vintage Metal Worn Leather and Tea Stain on all the ATC's. 

On this ATC I used the Genoville Antique Screws and Vincennes Metal Pulls also painted and embossed for grungy look.

Tales of Us - Frank Garcia Design Team

Hello Friends! 

Today I'm up on the Prima Blog sharing a design team project for the Frank Garcia Design Team. I'm using the Tales of You and Me collection and the beautiful Memory Hardware for my layout.

I thought it would be fun to construct and envelope theme as my layout base and I used the Montmartre Latches as a mock closure. I've tucked in ripped pieces of paper and mailing/ postage ephemera from the collection to further enhance my design.

I love to layer. That's my thing. You won't really find me doing lighter papers with lots of paints and misting work to make my own background as is the trend these days. I enjoy the pattern of paper and love contrast. I add my interest by using lots of layers, mixing patterns and finding unique ways to use the embellishments. I adore the LaVie Antique Cloche. I rubbed off the word that was on it and embossed the metal portion. I simply cut out the Tales of Us from one of the papers to place underneath it.

And of course of I love florals. Can't have too many of those!

I created tags by die cutting the pattern paper and tucking them in. 

I'm not one to use embellishments as they come packaged. I broke the latch apart and used one piece on the envelope flap and the other on the photo. Both were embossed and painted for a grungy worn look.

Mermaid Tag Frank Garcia Design Team

Hey Gang! I'm adoring Julie Nutting's stamps and what better way to use the Sea Sally Mermaid Stamp than with Frank Garcia's French Riviera collection. I created an oversized tag using Rangers Giant Tag it measures about 5 x 10 inches. I covered the background of the tag in Respirer l'air de Lamer pattern paper from the French Riviera collection. I then used the opposite side to create a large rosette. I showed you how I do these in a video of another tag I created - you can find it here.

The edges of the tag have been stamped with Primas stitch stamp. I used plain seam binding and dyed it myself with Glistening Waves Bloom Spray. Beneath the mermaid is Journees DeReves et Aventures torn and just slightly peeking out to add that hint of blue. I used this pattern paper to create the mermaid. I used the stamp on some book pages as my base. 

I then used several small circle punches to create a paper mosaic. This mosaic creates scales on her body and fins. I also used tiny circle punches to create the texture and dimension on her hair.

I used book pages to create my own fringe. If you guys have been following me you know this my new "thing." The Petite Rosette trim was sprayed with the Glistening Waves as well. I cut up the gold Rocquencourt Doily Lace and tucked it in.  Little bits of seed beads and sequins were added for interest on her fins and top. 

I used some Dusty Attic sprayed with Prima Sprays along with cheesecloth to give this a little sea side touch.

I'm involved in a swap at the Scraps of Darkness/Elegance community and this month is a doll tag swap. This beauty goes to my partner Niki Hackler- Maughan. Hope she likes it. :)

French Riveria Tag Mini Album- Frank Garcia Design Team

Next to altering Altoid Tins another favorite of mine is creating tag mini albums. I've always loved things on a small scale. I used to collect printers trays and miniatures so I guess this is my affection for those "littles" translated to the scrapping world.

I've use the beautiful French Riveria Collection for this one. In case you have been hiding beneath a rock the French Riveria Collection is from the Winter CHA with Prima and Frank Garcia. You can find Franks collections --------- here

I enjoy consistency in my mini albums so I tend to choose 3 papers and use Spellbinders Dies for matting. I use the same throughout the album highlighting with little touches such as paint splatters and matching embellishments.

I stitched the edges of all the tags on both sides. The front is highlighted with a chipboard title from the Cartographer Chipboard - 990169

There are many beautiful vintage images in the French Riviera collection. I fussy cut several of them and used them to enhance my tags. Little bits of the gold "Cours Mirabeau Floral Lace" were cut apart and added to some of the pages.

I used dies from Tim Holtz to cut tags out of the pattern papers. There are a few in this collection that are set up as journal spots and graphics. You can also see the cute wood embellishment here from the French Riviera Collection - 583781

Added more details not only with random stamping from the French Riviera Cling Stamps but as embellishments. You can see I cut out the "Time with you" stamp and used it to adorn this tag.

Of course nothing is complete without some misting and splatters. You know the Prima sprays have such a spectacular sheen to them. I used Glistening Waves- 573942 and Worn Leather - 573829

I also used the gorgeous Prima Die in the background on book pages. I added these to several pages throughout the album. This one is Parisian Lace - 584047

To make my album 'pop' and hide the ring I used for a closure I alternated seam binding and ribbon and created a little tassel with the "Cote D'Azur" chains- 990695

All the little tags were created with die cuts on the pattern paper.

This is probably my favorite image in the collection. So sweet!

The dies can be used as matting for photos- I like to use paper clips so you can peek behind the photo and see the image.

I created a very simple little pocket with more die cut tags. There are a ton of places in this album for photos and journaling.

This little album makes a great travel journal. I hope you are inspired to create one for yourself. :)

Tales of You And Me Tag Frank Garcia Design Team/ Prima

If you have not had a chance to see the newest lines by Frank Garcia then you are in for a treat today with my vintage style tag created with Tales of You and Me. Not only do I have a gorgeous tag to share with gorgeous products but I've created a step by step video (below) so you can watch me put this together. Yay!

Tales of You and Me is the new release from Prima featured in the winter CHA.

I created this tag with a base of Tales of You and Me. I added a vintage image and used some book pages for the fringe and die cut.

                      

This close up shows the details on tag. I made a tassel to hang off the ribbon with the Villeneuve Antique Rings and the Cote D'Azur Antique Chain.

The gold floral are pieces I cut from the Mirabeau Floral Lace.

... And I added a little piece of the Monpazier Gilded Trim to her crown.

One of my favorite tags to date. :)
