Prima January PPP

Today I am playing along with the PPP at Prima. 

What a gorgeous color combo! It was easy to get my mojo going with this one.

I've been wanting to do a mixed media Owl canvas for sometime and thought I would give it a whirl for this challenge.

I used an 8 x 10 inch flat canvas and covered it in gesso.

I then began layering the background with torn papers from Prima, stamps, inks Lindys Stamp Gang Mists and water soluble crayons. The owl was cut from Prima papers and I colored them with water soluble crayons and then brushed water on to blend. I used some graphite pencils and crayons for bits of shading on the owl.

I used a Prima Mask in the background with some Textures by Shimmerz.

Of course all the flowers, vines and metal are Prima.

Here is a close up of the bits and pieces on the canvas. Did some stamping on the owl to give her some more detailing. I've got some mesh ribbon cut up and tucked in as her wings.
