I layered the Tales Of You and Me pattern paper amid florals, chipboard and ephemera...
My latest obsession as you have seen is adding book page rosette flowers that I make with a Tim Holtz Die and book page fringe just made with fringe scissors...

The cute little chipboard girl from the Tales of You and Me Chipboard pack and the cute wood butterfly from The Archivist Wood Icons make a great pair!

If you have been a follower of mine you know I like to do the "unexpected" and use products in a way that deviates from the traditional. I COULD create a layout, card, tag or mini album but this time around I thought I would do something a little quirky. I've taken Franks " The Archivist" collection and added some art doll fun on these ATC's.

These are super fun to create and trade with other artist friends.

Art Doll ATC by Lisa Novogrodski using The Archivist for the Frank Garcia Design Team

I started off each ATC with a base sheet cut to size from The Archivist 6 x 6 Paper Pad. I then used The Archivist note cards as my next layer. Some pieces of the note cards were cut up and layered under the art dolls. I stamped each ATC with the Cartographer Clear Stamp.

I used The Archivist Brads and the Eiffel Tower from The Archivist Wood Icons on the front of my art doll.

This one eyed beauty has The Archivist Wood Icon magnifying glass painted and embossed over her eye!

I painted and embossed the Memory Hardware Villeneauve Antique Rings and added them randomly on this doll.  I splashed drops of Bloom Sprays in Vintage Metal Worn Leather and Tea Stain on all the ATC's.

On this ATC I used the Genoville Antique Screws and Vincennes Metal Pulls also painted and embossed for grungy look.

Tales of Us - Frank Garcia Design Team

Hello Friends!
Today I'm up on the Prima Blog sharing a design team project for the Frank Garcia Design Team. I'm using the Tales of You and Me collection and the beautiful Memory Hardware for my layout.

I thought it would be fun to construct and envelope theme as my layout base and I used the Montmartre Latches as a mock closure. I've tucked in ripped pieces of paper and mailing/ postage ephemera from the collection to further enhance my design.

I love to layer. That's my thing. You won't really find me doing lighter papers with lots of paints and misting work to make my own background as is the trend these days. I enjoy the pattern of paper and love contrast. I add my interest by using lots of layers, mixing patterns and finding unique ways to use the embellishments. I adore the LaVie Antique Cloche. I rubbed off the word that was on it and embossed the metal portion. I simply cut out the Tales of Us from one of the papers to place underneath it.

And of course of I love florals. Can't have too many of those!

A peek at the top of the envelope with a mix of paper and embellishments.

...More florals....

I created tags by die cutting the pattern paper and tucking them in.

I'm not one to use embellishments as they come packaged. I broke the latch apart and used one piece on the envelope flap and the other on the photo. Both were embossed and painted for a grungy worn look.

I created a layout using the French Riveria collection. This collection is stunning and so easy to work with. I simply adore it!

Travel Layout by Lisa Novogrodski for Prima/ Frank Garcia Design Team using the French Riveria Collection

I used he same techniques I love to use. Paper tearing, layering and splatters. I have bits of cheesecloth and some real shells tucked in there.

Along with all the beautiful papers, Frank also has matching stamps and florals.

2nd Reveal with the Transitions Kit from Scraps of Darkness

Hello Friends! Today I have another layout to share created with the September "Transitions Kit" from Scraps of Darkness.

I've used more of the beautiful Prima Papers and blooms in the kits.
This months kit also features some of UmWowStudios flair and chipboard.

I added some sequins and found they were not really working as a whole so I cut them in half and loved the effect!

I also used Lumiere Paint in areas with stamps. Just by brushing it over your stamp with a paint brush or using your finger to rub it over the stamp you can achieve some great effects!

Thanks so much for stopping by! :)

Hi Gang! Today I am sharing my first layout created with the "Transitions Kit" for September's Scraps of Darkness Kit Club!

In case you didn't catch the main kit photo the other day here is a peek!

I'm using the beautiful "Forever Green" Prima papers included in the kit this month.  I 've used a variety of splattering techniques involving Lumiere, Gesso, Lindys's Mist and this fabulous product "Stampendous Spoonful Of Midnight Embossing Powder" LOVE!

A gorgeous Prima vine tangled up among the beautiful Prima blooms!

Here are some more close ups. Lots of little elements tucked in and random stamping along with bits of punched paper.

I also used Inka Gold with stamps. Love the effect!

A little bit of UmWow flair here (also included in the kit)

Thanks so much for stopping in. I enjoy your comments and appreciate you taking the time to leave one.

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend! Be back soon with more projects featuring this months kit!

Prima- January 2014 - BAP

I Am Unique

Here comes my artsy quirky side. Pushing the envelope a bit on this one. ;)

Based on the January sketch. .. Really it is...

Who says scrapbooking supplies have to be used for... Scrapbooking?
While you CAN glue a photo to the page and document your memories you don't ALWAYS have to. Why not try something different?

Take out your crayons, colored pencils, graphite, paints and play with childlike abandon!

The title is "I am unique" and the "e" in unique is upside down on purpose.
A little artsy statement there. ;)

The face was drawn in graphite and then water soluble crayons, pencils and acrylics were used.

Mixed in with Prima papers and flowers are also some Prima stamps and a mask.
The background is layered with gesso, paints, mists, masking and stamps.

I had a vision when I started this and it's not exactly as I imagined because I have a limited supply of Prima products. I need to go shopping! LOL

Thanks for stopping in your guys! I appreciate your visit!

Our beautiful June kit offers hand selected papers by Donna Salazar,
Fabscraps and Kaisercraft. All this is complimented with an array of Prima embellishments. Sure to please even the most discriminate scrapper.

I love to create with our exclusively designed sketches by SuePup. Her use of the papers as a graphic are AmazinG!!!

I decided to use a photo of my beautiful sister in law and niece for this layout. This was taken for my niece's Junior Prom and shows such a special moment shared between the two of them.

I used Martha Stewarts Floral Crochet punch around the page on my edges. We received a beautiful selection of Prima flowers in our kit~ Kennedy Blueberry were the ones I used in the bottom corner.

A little Dusty Attic I added from my stash. Inked and painted.

This layout was inspired by the Kaisercraft window included in our kit. I shaped the photo of my daughter to fit the window and the song "Come to my Window" by Melissa Etheridge came to mind.

Prima Resin Bird...
Crafty Secrets Vintage Birds and Blossoms...

A little close up the window...
cheescloth...
Prima Pixie Vine Songbird...
I used a font in word to create the title for my layout.

Tags...tags...tags...

The Crafty Secrets Heartwarming Birds and Blossoms are
perfect sweet images to add to tags.
I wanted to do a shabby chic tag using all the sweet beautiful elements in the kit...

One more close up of the ribbon and button to finish it off...

Some ButTerFlies for you to Enjoy with your June kit!
