2014 My Year for Artistic Growth

Happy New Year Everyone!

Today I am sharing a side of me that you have not really seen before.
This year is all about artistic growth for me. I am delving into genres outside of the "traditional scrapbooking" arena and working towards developing my talents in these areas.

I've discovered an amazing teacher Tamara LaPort am I am fully entrenched in her classes. One of which is Lifebook 2014.

My first project for this class was to draw and paint my Artistic Guardian Angel and my word for the year which is "Grow"

This is a painting I have created on watercolor paper using watercolors, acrylics, graphite and other mixed media techniques.

Just some close ups of her detailing.

Since I came into the scrapbooking world I have pretty much stuck with the shabby chic pretty side of me. Mostly because that is what is popular in that arena.

There is a very large part of me that is artsy and quirky. Probably more so than the shabby chic side. I used to draw and paint when I was young and then got into other things and left it behind. I have been suppressing this need to express myself in this way for a long time and now she cries out to be released. So off we go!

We will see where this takes me. :)
