Scraps of Darkness June Sneak Peek

So glad you are visiting me today. I'm sharing a sneak peek of what I am doing with the June Scraps of Darkness kit "Firecracker"
Today I've got my sketch layout here for you to peek at.
This is the sketch our Charlotte did for us.

I've been getting a tad bit bored with the style I have been doing these last few years. Time for a change. Not sure what I'll evolve into yet but this month I thought I would do something most pile on the page scrappers don't do- journal!

I tend to like a cleaner design. I don't think that will change. I'm not big into the gesso and heavily chaotic mixed media background work ( while beautiful and certainly appreciated) it's just not my thing. My personality in real life tends to be  geared towards organizing and neatness (LOL)  and I guess that is carried over into my scrap style.
This month I used an old photo of my husband with my daughter, niece and nephew. This is a cherished moment I remember the times we shared when our kids were little very well. I miss those times.
On the photo I used a phrase brush from Designer Digitals this is one by Cathy Zielske.

I like to cut apart the journaling cards that came in the kit (Bo Bunny Noteworthy Die Cuts) I do love to layer! It' my favorite thing to do and I so want to do a clean page with less layering or large scale layering but it's sooooo hard for me to stop the layers!

I mades some splats! Yessiree!
I'm gonna be splatting often now that I know how.
A little misting too. I used some super gorgeous Lindys Mists on my background. Oh and I used the shimmerz in the kit to spray my color me crazy florals.

The chipboard flourish is by Gina's Designs. I added that from my stash and used the Indigo Lumiere paint that was in our kit. I used crackle over it. It's a fave technique now! I probably over use it. What do you think?

Ok that's the peek for today. I'll be back real soon with a couple of more fabulous projects created with this kit. Wait till you see. *wink*

Have a good week and thanks so much for stopping in!
