Working with acrylic

This is the first time I have done a layout on 12x12 acrylic and I had a BLAST!!!! It took me a while of studying techniques before attempting this. My idol Irene Tan a/k/a scrapperlicious is really the source of inspiration for all things acrylic. I highly recommend having a scrap piece of acrylic to use to practice painting and stamping on before doing the real thing!

This layout titled Fantasy is my dd who had her face painted this past summer.
It's a tad challenging to photograph acrylic because it's clear and you can not really get that transparent effect in a photo. However I did my best.  The edges are painted using an acrylic paint dabber. I used a die cut with a scalloped edge and place it over the acrylic and then painted the edges.
I photoshopped wings on my daughter. The wings came out in purple and teal and look awesome in this photo. Do not ask me how I got that effect. I have no idea. It just happened and I had to copy the wing and flip it for the other side cuz I could not  figure out how to do it again!!!!
I stamped the hearts using cats eye ink.
I used stickles in a purple to detail the paper and the hearts. The paper is a cumulation of leftover Swirly paper, and some prima and BG I had on hand.

I made the big flower and the leaves are a sizzix die. I printed out the butterfly on photo paper. Those are one of Lisa"s a/k/a starsailorscrapper butterflies she shares with us.
It's really not so intimidating once you give it a try. I am already working on another!
Thanks for the visit girls! Have a great day! x0x0
