The papers in our June Swirlydoos kit are just perfect for doing vintage photos! I could not have chosen a better line than this beautiful Ella Blue by GCD! This photo is of yours truly back when I was a grade school girl. I remember my parents taking drives to the beach to cut reeds, and cattails for vases in my house. I can still picture that orange glass 70's style vase my mother filled with these in our living room! I also remember this coat I was wearing and I loved it!
Onto the techniques. I distress using my scissor blades. I just go for it and the paper tears in just the right spots. Sometimes I use the blades of different deco scissors, I just run them over the edge of the paper. They give a nice distress too and tear the paper at the same time. I use water, and wrinkling and crinkling and rolling.
This layout is doing triple duty, distress challenge over at sb.com, butterfly challenge at Swirlydoos AND I used this weeks sketch at SI#127. I cut the two butterflies from our June kit paper and then added stickles and some mico glass beads to them. This layout is already so busy that I really didn't want to go too crazy jazzing up my butterflies! The letters I did my title in are from an order of goodies I recently got it. They are from The Girls Paperie! Thanks for the blog visit! xo
