Mini Album Created for Scraps of Elegance with the September Kit Lisa's Sweet September

Hello Friends and Welcome to my Blog!

So glad to you took the time to stop by. I have a special photo heavy project to share with you today. This is my first project created with the beautiful September kit "Lisa's Sweet September."  If you have visited here before and seen our kit reveals this year you know Melinda has been naming kits after each of our wonderful designers. This month the kit is named after our talented Lisa Griffith!

You can find this months kit for Scraps of Elegance ------ HERE

You will find the most beautiful papers selected this month - Blue Fern Autumn Anthology and Graphic 45 Gilded Lily - Here is direct link to the --- kit ---- HURRY they sell out quick!

_________________________________________________________________

The front and back cover of my mini album are from a mini album we received in a former kit. As I said before kits are a great way to build up your supplies. Instead of using the whole mini album I just used two pieces of the hardboards to create my covers.

Melinda is selling these gorgeous stencils by Rebecca Baer. This one was included in the Elements Add On. You can find it ------ here
It's called "Moroccan Tile and Vine." We have a wide selection of these gorgeous stencils. They are very unique and so beautiful to work with. Take a look at them all  ------ here

I used the stencil on my front cover with two different distress inks and blue and brown tone. First I used the blue then went over the the stencil again hitting parts of it with the brown.  I love that two tone effect!
Front and center is the beautiful chipboard from Graphic 45 Gilded Lily Collection and the Ornate Metal Keyholes. The doily has a gorgeous golden sheen to it. I received this in a past kit and it is from Papermania "Oyster Blush Lace Paper."  I layered on the flowers. Some are from the kit " Prima Debutante and Magnolia which are the little gold flowers" and the rest are from my stash acquired through past kits.

I used some Viva Rusty Patina, Inka Gold and Smooch in Pool on the keyhole to give it a worn look. The whole album was splattered with Lumiere in Bright Gold. I used Blue Fern Studios Autumn Anthology in Le Ballon on the cover.

I wanted to do this album a little different from the others. Instead of using the hardboard pages I created all my own. I also varied the sizes to add some fun elements and interest. I acquired the Tim Holtz Alterations Die "Postage Stamp" and used that throughout the book for photo mats. I used the "Balcony" papers from the Blue Fern collection on the inside of my cover.

Peeking into the book this is the first page you would flip to. I die cut the postage stamp in chipboard then covered it in the Blue Fern Autumn Anthology "Cottage." I love how you can see the larger page behind it - sort of.

I can never leave paper as it is. I seem to need to add some random stamping and splatters just to make it more interesting. This is actually pretty clean for me. I left out modeling paste. :) You can see the paper add on for the kit ------ HERE

I've been stalking Steph Millers mini album videos lately and got some ideas from her Epiphany album. She has a tutorial on a page like this with a little pocket and flip out page. You can find her tutorials on Live with Prima. I used the Graphic 45 Gilded Lily- both the paper and the chipboard pieces. The chipboard pieces are included in the Elements Add On. You can find them ------HERE

You can see here how the cute little pocket folds outs.

On the back side I used more Blue Fern "Gazebo" and a postage stamp mat.

This page was created with acrylic. I cut a piece of Clear Scraps Acrylic and ran it through the Cuttlebug with an embossing folder to achieve the textured effect. After I completed that step I used several alcohol inks with blending solution to color the acrylic.

I used a Prima Resin Frame colored with Rusty Patina, Lumiere and Smooch. I used the same on the Keyhole. I love how you can see the graphics of the paper adhered to the opposing side of the acrylic.

This is the backside of the acrylic. I used more Graphic 45 Gilded Lily and created a pocket to tuck tags into. This is embellished with the little envelopes and chipboard pieces that are part of the Gilded Lily collection.

This page was created with a vellum base. I have a beautiful collection of some patterned vellum from when I designed for Ruby Rock It. This page was constructed using a technique once again from Steph Miller's Epiphany album. There are three fold out pages for journaling, photos, to attach or tuck momentos into.

I used more of the Blue Fern Studios papers for this one - "Parfumerie"

More postage stamp die cuts for precious photos. I like to paint all the edges of my chipboard with Lumiere in gold. I do this to the mini album chipboard edges and postage stamp edges as I do not like raw chipboard look.

The back cover is something I kept pretty simple. If you are laying the album down you don't really want a ton of embellishment because it will get worn and crushed. I just used more inking with the Rebecca Baer stencil and splatters of course!

Don't forget to check out our Scraps of Elegance community on Facebook. You can find us ------ here.

Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by. I hope you enjoyed my project and are inspired to start your mini album frenzy! I've been making a ton of them lately. Time to work on a layout for a change eh?

Have a wonderful week!
