Scraps of Elegance - 2nd Reveal

What I love so much about the kit clubs I design for -
Scraps of Darkness and Scraps of Elegance -
is the
Versatility
of our kits and our designers.

This kit is one of my faves all pretty and girly ... I love that you do gorgeous scrapbook pages if that's your thing. BUT the really great thing about our kits is that you DON'T have to do scrapbook pages with them. You are only limited to creating the art that you BOX YOURSELF INTO.

I created a little "She Art" inspired canvas with the beautiful Prima Papers "Garden Fable". I also used the little Prima Resin Birdhouse. These items are both in the beautiful Main Kit.

You can find the kit and subscriptions in our store along with lots of other goodies right -------- HERE

Her Nest Is Best Canvas by Lisa Novogrodski for Scraps of Elegance using the August kit "Mallikas Whimsy"

My background is a combination of Lumiere, Silks, Distress Paint, Distress Ink Sprays, Modeling Paste, Stamping and Rub Ons. I used a Prima Mask in the background as well. These are mostly all items I have acquired over the years from my beautiful kits. Kits are a great way to build up your mixed media supplies and stash.

I can't tell you how much fun it was to create this canvas! I love Christy Tomlinson and finally I have some time to delve into my workshops and create some new pieces. I love this type of work! I did not want to copy her "She Art" phrases as I'm hoping to acquire my own style and vibe as I grow so I came up with the saying "Her Nest Is Best." The birdhouse reminded me of a book I used to read to my daughter... "The Best Nest"

I was planning on selling off a lot of my supplies. I started cleaning my studio earlier this year and made a few boxes up of the things I felt I would not use. WELL now that I am into this type of work forget it! I have to go through everything again. Christy Tomlinson is the master of showing you how to use up supplies you never thought you would! LOL

I used the butterflies in our kits by Renea as wings on my girl and I added the butterfly antenna to her head!

I was also inspired by this months PPP over at Prima and thought I would play along!

Thank you for taking the time to stop by! I hope you enjoy my project!

Such a great canvas! I need to make a point of using up some of my mixed media supplies too. I just have not been doing much of anything this past year as there have been so many deaths of friends and family. I must get back on track. Your canvas was very inspriing! BL
