Hello Friends-
I've got a super fun project to share today!
I've been into creating non traditional mini albums lately. I love all the bits and pieces of mini albums. The fun photo mats and pockets but not so much the actual book making part. I thought about altering this box and including a mini album inside of it. Then I had the brainstorm to simply make mini album mats, envelopes and tags and include them in the box. No front or back cover needed! Why do they need to be attached to each other in a page form right?
I've used the gorgeous July Kit from Scraps of Darkness - Tracey's Artful Adventure.
You can find all our beautiful kits --------- here
And our facebook community --------------here
The papers and elements I used are from BoBunny's Penny Emporium collection included in the kit. The florals are Prima and Petaloo also in our kit!
I embossed all the paper that covers the box inside and out. This is a cuttlebug embossing folder I used. One of my favorites and it gives a bubble effect. I then used a variety of techniques- inking, gesso, mists and splatters.
Inside the box I have a tag, 4 smaller photo mats with the steampunk framed ladies on the front and a mat on the back for photos, 3 larger photo mats and an envelope I created with a Tim Holtz Die.
This is peek at the front of the box. I used seam binding for a bow and added little beads at the ends. I got this idea from Lisa Gregory! She is a constant source of inspiration that girl is. :)
I added a lot of chipboard gears to this from my stash. I used the Stampendous Encrusted Jewels Embossing Powders on them. Let me tell you those embossing powders are just stunning. You can see in the photos all the dimension and texture they add. I also added in some of Lindys embossing powders and mists for more variation.
This is a peek at the inside of the box. The lace was also in our kits and used the Lindys mists included in our color add on to give them a vintage look.
Here you can really see the embossing powders at their best. I used them on everything! The metals pieces I have on here are all embossed with the Encrusted Jewels combined with Lindy's.
This gorgeous tag was created with the BoBunny papers as well. The chipboard "Express Yourself" is Blue Fern! Ooooh LOVE!!!!!
The wings are Primas Finnabair Winged Things. Everything is embossed and painted with Lindy's and Faber Castell Texture Gems included in the kit.
I created 4 photo mats from these portrait cards. The fronts all have embossed chipboard and Iced Enamels German Glass Glitter. I used a die cut to mat the portrait cards on and also included a mat on the back of each for photos.
I tied them together with twine to keep inside the box. I also die cut an envelope with a Tim Holtz die to tuck little treasures in.
A few close ups so you can see the beautiful embossing detail.
The final items in the box are 3 more cards for photos. The fronts all treated with splatters, stamping and chipboard. The backs are all matted for photos.
This is a close up of all the matted photo cards.
Thanks so much for stopping in. I hope you enjoy my project today!

Beautiful mini album! The colors, design, and embossing powders are amazing!
You are so very talented! What a gorgeous box and I love that you didn't make an album - and you're absolutely right - why do you need one. Put the pics on the mats and store them in the beautiful box. Your design and detailing is wonderful!
