HEARTFELT CREATIONS WEDNESDAY!

This week I used the new "My Guy" Collection once again and I have to tell you all how much fun I am having with it! You know I am a girly scrapper who loves her flowers and vines. I thought this set would be a challenge for me but I have found this set has really inspired me to come up with some cool ideas.

I used cardboard again for this layout and layered on gesso and mists. This is a photo I took of an old car parked in a pumpkin patch near my home.
The flourishes are a sizzix die that I cut out of metal. I used the barn and tall grass stamps and gave them just a slight touch of color with water color pencils and distress ink. I lean more toward a distress/vintage look when I color with stamps.
The flowers were created using the Carnation Creations Die. I printed the quote out on my computer and cut each word and inked the edges.

Heartfelt Creations Supplies:
Other supplies: Bo Bunny Pattern Paper, Cardstock, Pizza Back Round Cardboard, Distress Ink, Walnut Hollow Metal, Alcohol Ink, Gesso, Watercolor Pencils, Burlap, Smooch, Starburst Mist, Small flower punch, EK Success Punches, Martha Stewart Punches, Hemp Cord, Hole Punch, Markers, Tim Holtz Ideaology Stickers, Stickles, Sizzix Die, Computer Fonts
Layer gesso over round cardboard scraping it on randomly. Once dried spray random spots with smooch and starburst mist. Allow to dry. Punch holes around the outside edge about one inch in from the edge and about an inch apart. Wind two strands of hemp in and out of the holes as shown. Secure with a knot in the back when it is complete. Use a colored marker to add some color to the hemp. Cut strips of an edge punch of your choice. Glue to the outside edge of a round cardstock cut to the same size as you cardboard. Adhere the cardstock backing with punched edge to the cardboard. Cut 2 different pattern papers about 6 inches wide by 6 inches long. Punch edges in your choice of design. Adhere them to the cardboard in a slightly tilted fashion in the center of page. Edge punch one side of the photo and adhere to cardstock mat. Adhere photo to page center over pattern paper. Cut a piece of burlap about 4 inches wide by 4 inches long and fray the edges. Adhere to the right corner under the photo.
Use a punch to punch two strips. Adhere one trimming to be slightly less wide that the background and place at bottom of photo. Trim another and place on center of burlap.
Fussy cut an image from your pattern paper, ink edges and adhere under the top of photo as shown. Die cut two flourishes out of the Walnut Hollow Metal. Drip alcohol ink on them and use a blending tool to smooth the color out. After the color dries glue to right upper and lower corner under the photo. Stamp the Morning on the Farm, barn stamp and the Scenery Builders tall grass. Cut each one out with the Blossom Nestability in your choice of sizes. Use colored pencils to give just a hint of color in spots on the stamps. Use distress ink to ink the edges of the diecuts. Adhere to page as shown. Die cut the Carnation Creastions in various sizes and ink the edges. Crinkle for dimension and adhere to page as shown. Punch small flower cents and glue to centers of flowers doubling up on some and curling centers inward. Cut the vines from the Western Broncos Die and adhere under flowers as shown. Add some butterflies from the Tim Holtz Sticker Set. Use Distress stickles to detail the butterflies, leaves and flowers. Type up a quote on your computer. Print it out on cardstock. Cut each word out, ink edges and place on page as shown.

Be sure to check out the other designers at the Heartfelt Creations Blog. Everyone is so talented. I am inspired by them all every week!

This is magnificent. I love the card-board box background. I need to try something like this. Hope my neighbors don't see me dumpster diving for cardboard-they will think I have flipped!!! I'll tell them "Lisa" made me do it..hahaha You are one gifted and talented artist. Love your work.
