HEARTFELT CREATIONS WEDNESDAY!

We are pleased to introduce the My Guy Collection. This is a set for your best buckaroo. This collection comes with a lively farmstead, frolicking horses, and sentimental sayings in fonts that have as much attitude as your special man does. With a western flare of attitude, this set also contains cowboy hats and boots, and a variety of landscape stamps to create that perfect scenic creation you have been dreaming of. There are 7 new PreCut Stamp Sets and one beautiful new exclusive Spellbinders die designed for Heartfelt Creations.
Leave a comment on the HC blog by March 20 to be eligible to win the entire release valued at $141.92. The winner will be announced on March 21 on the HC Blog.

I had so much fun this week playing with the new collection! It's always so hard to find the perfect embellishments for masculine or scenic layouts. This stamp set fits the bill for sure. I decided to go in the direction of a scenic layout. I took this photo when I traveled to Colorado last year. It's just a random barn we saw and I thought it would be a great shot.
I used cardboard in the background with the postage stamp edge and randomly slathered on some gesso, alcohol ink and mists.

Some close ups:
The horses and tree were stamped and colored with watercolor pencils and inks.
I printed the title on my computer and used the Tim Holtz die to attach the title to.
Heartfelt Creations Supplies:
HCD 720 - Western Broncos Die
HCPC 3456-Western Bronco Precut Set
HCPC 3457-Birch Tree Precut Set
Other Supplies:
Corrugated cardboard, Cardstock, Bo Bunny & Basic Gray Pattern Paper, Dusty Attic Chipboard Gears, Hemp Cord, Wooden Fence, Tim Holtz Decorative Strip Die, Tim Holtz Philosophy Tags, Gesso, Alcohol Ink, Starburst Mist, Burlap, Stickles, Circle Punch, Distess Ink, Computer Fonts, Watercolor Pencils, Momento Marker, Brads, Deckle edge scissors
Cut a piece of cardboard from a left over box to a 12 x 12 size. Using a circle punch create a postage stamp edge along the 4 sides. Tutorial can be found on my blog:
http://lisas-livingincolor.blogspot.com/search/label/Tutorial  Cut a tear into the cardstock in the right bottom corner. Apply gesso to the cardstock in the area that will show through the tear. Adhere to a 12x12 piece of cardstock. Trim with scissors around the postage stamp edge just so the cardstock shows through as a border. Randomly cover cardboard with gesso. Drip alcohol ink and spray Starburst Mist on the cardboard. Tear two pieces of coordinating pattern paper, ink the edges and adhere to the left side of the page one slightly off center from the other. Trim 3 strips of paper, One about 1 inch wide by 8 inches long and two about half inch by four inches long. Ink edges and adhere as shown. Mat picture to cardstock and adhere titled slightly to page as shown. Ink 3 chipboard gears and glue to left corner to the photo and place as shown. Fussy cut 3 small flowers from pattern paper and adhere to photo as shown. Detail centers with stickles. Stamp the Birch Tree and fussy cut out. Color with watercolor pencils and detail slightly with marker. Die cut the Western Broncos and stamp with the Western Bronco Precut Set. Color the Broncos with watercolor pencils. Adhere the tree and the horses as shown. Die cut several leaves and ink the leaves and adhere as shown. Trim a piece of burlap and glue over the cut in the cardboard. Cut two lengths of hemp and place diagonal on the page and tie. Glue down in spots. Use a brad to adhere metal tag to the page. Cut a piece of wooden fencing and use ink to color it. Bend to suit the design and glue down. Print out title on the computer. Cut around title with the deckle scissors and ink edges. Cut out two Tim Holtz Decorative Strips and ink edges. Adhere to page as shown.

I know it is "my guy" but my cowgirl daughter flipped when she saw this page. It is absolutely gorgeous and I am loving the use of the corrugated cardboard that adds so much texture.

So hard to find good "guy" stuff! I'm wondering if you spray the corrg cardboard, aren't you worried about the high acid content ruining your pages over time? I love the look, I'm just paranoid!

Hi Glee!
The mists I believe are acid free and I do not worry about the cardboard. My photos are all duplicates. So the originals will always be safe on a hard drive.
I scrapbook for fun and creativity and don't really worry about that. I think the pages will long good longer than I do. :) If you want to try a page with cardboard just scrap the same photo again on something acid free so you will have that too.
