REVEAL DAY at Scraps of Darkness!!!!

 "Vintage Revelry"

The beautiful March kit from Scraps of Darkness is filled with the fun and fabulous Graphic 45 "Curtin Call" papers and The Paper Loft "For the Record" line. Not to mention the very intriguing embellishments. Gorgeous Prima full blooms, metal flowers, clock hands and lace. You have to go check out the site to view the other needful add ons. The romance and color add ons are to die for!!! An assortment of Moonshadow and Starburts Mists in 7 drool worthy colors and a very fun piece of Prima canvas. The Romance is a "can't live without" with the amazing Prima flowers and butterflies and that Graphic 45 doorknob is one of the most fun embellishements I have ever worked with!
I had a never ending stream of creativity with this kit. I am excited to be able to share my work with you for this month and hope you are inspired to create with this fabulous kit!

Exit Stage Left
This is a photo of my dd and friend. Silly teens that they are. I went for a theatrical looking photo to go with these papers! This is my take on Charlottes aka SuePups sketch for us this month. I love the color scheme of these papers with the creamy tan and black. I added the Graphic 45 textured cardstock in the background and made the flowers using my Poppy Sizzix die. I opted to keep my lines clean this month with the G45 because the paper is so intense.

 Style
I had so much fun playing with my photos this month. Many of you know I love to play with PSE. As much as I like to scrap for the sake of preserving memories I also like to do it just for fun. I love to play with photos and match them to my papers. This months kit was perfect for a little vintage style on my dd. I used a technique called "extraction" to dress my daughter in a vintage hat. (I wish she would pose for me in one IRL but she won't. So a girls's gotta do what a girl's gotta do. LOL ) That gorgeous Prima bloom was in our kit. I made the smaller one out a paper bag that our goodies came in. Again I kept my lines pretty clean on this layout.

If The Crown Fits

In the color add on we received SEVEN bottles of Moonshadow mist and Starburst mist. I am so in love with these products! They are just a dream to work with. The colors are gorgeous and the intensity is perfect. I love that they come as a powder and then you add the water to the bottle when you get them. We also received a Prima Mistable Canvas. I really wanted to do something different with mine rather than just using it as a backdrop for my layout. I misted it in several different colors, then use a prima stencil I had on hand. Once I had the canvas colored I decided to cut it up! I used the edges as my frame and I ran the rest through my cuttlebug using my TH Tattered floral die. The canvas goes through the die cutter like butter. The canvas flowers add so much texture to the page and look so pretty with the mists and stencils. I also stamped leaves and birds and cut them out and added to my page. Photography credit: Gina Coppolino Photography

A Walk

This is a photo of my mother and grandfather many many moons ago when she was a young lady. She was a bridesmaid in this photo. I used the gorgeous Paper Loft papers and the gossamer gold mist (my personal favorite) on the chipboard frame. We also received some gorgeous gold embossing powder and I used that on my birdcage. I dissected Mandys pin to fit the top of my cage.  I made the flowers using another sheet of the Paper Loft papers and layered them using mists and stickles.

I'm Already Gone

I loved this months kit sooo much with all the fun papers and gorgeous embellies. I have to say the most fun embellishment I worked with was this Graphic 45 doorknob. I had a hard time parting with it. I really wanted to put it on a shelf it is just so much fun to look at. However I knew right away what I was going to do with it scrap wise. I used an artists canvas and modpodged the backgound paper onto it.
Then I painted over the paper with several layers of blue and gold paint. We received some wonderful stamps in our kit and I stamped images on the background and added the peeling page look. I also did some doodles, used rub ons and a DA clock.
My daughter will be 16 this week and when I saw the doorknob the Kelly Clarkson song "I'm already gone" played over and over in my head.  I printed her photo on cardstock instead of photo paper and mod podged that too for texture and grunge.

Thank you Card

I love the beautiful and unique Kanban "Moulin Diva's" I created a card using the cardstock these came on. I used my Heartfelt Creations stamps to stamp some flowers and I embossed them with the gold powder in the kit. I also stamped the Thank you image and embossed as well. The gold center of that feathery flower is another goodie in the March kit.

I hope you enjoyed this months reveal. Be sure to visit the other DT girls to see what they did with this amazing kit. Come on over to SOD and check it out. We have a great group of ladies and lot's of fun! I am running another challenge this month and all are welcome to join in. Thank you for stopping by today. I appreciate your visits so much. xo
