Mosiac Tile Technique

Every month over at Swirlydoos we have the option to get the technique add on with our kit. I of course have gone "perm" on this since I cannot seem to live without anything Krissy has to offer over there! I actually LOVE the technique add on because it gets me to try things I probably would not ever get around to doing. Plus I have the wonderful Swirlydoos community to share it with.
This months kit offered a mosaic tile frame technique. We received a blank frame, made out of a heavy cardboard/chipboard type material and 2 bags of tiles. It was a little tough starting off, deciding what kind of design I wanted to do. Once decided I tiled the inside and outside rows first. Once I got that part done it was then a piece of cake! I used a ruler to tap them straight and keep them square. I had to space them once the row was done to get them to fit nicely across the page.  Here is a look at the complete lo.

And some close ups:

I added text to my photo when I was editing it. It says Families are forever. This of course is my little family in a recent photo. We received these beautiful gold embellies in our kit. The flourish in a Hambly screen print. I cut it as close as I could to the design and adhered it to the outside of the frame.

There was also this gorgeous gold hand made paper in the kit! I did not want to cover it up too much!
And I had some black Hambly screen prints on hand and used them as well. I think it added a little boost to lo!
If you are not a member of the fabulous Swirlydoos community you should come pay a visit! I don't know how anyone can live without these gorgeous kits!
Thanks so much for visiting me today! xoxo
