Tea with the Queen

Gosh, I am so into this February Swirlydoos kit now the ideas are just flowing and I can't scrap fast enough!!! AAANNNNDDD the March kit will be on it's way this week! Yikes. No eating or sleeping for me! ha ha

Well, this layout was sooo fun to do. I am really into the metal now and yes, I broke down and went perm on the technique add on at Swirlydoos. I'm giving up getting my nails done in order to support my scrap obsession. You can't keep nice nails when you do art anyway. I get them done and then they are covered in glue and paint and ink anyway and look like GAGA within a day! LOL

This photo is of my dd Bri and my grandfather (her great grandpa!) How lucky she was to have him in her life for 7 years. He was the best grandfather EVER! They are having a tea party in this photo.

I made the metal border using a mold and I created the metal flower using Lisa's (StarSailorScrapper) make and take tutorial over at Swirlydoos. The flower is made by cutting one inch strips, using a border punch then running through a crimper. Then I used a combination of several alcohol inks to color the metal. Sooo fun!!!  I painted the alpha with an acrylic paint then applied crackle to it and inked the edges. LOve how that came out!

I made the gold butterfly by stamping on transparancy paper then embossing with gold. I made the butterflies body with beads and wire. I used one  of the stamps in the kit to make a flower pot looking thingee and then ripped apart some twine to make it look like moss for the flower stem to sit in.
Thanks for visiting!
