CottageCutz

& Gina's Designs

Hi Everyone!
Today I am sharing a altered heart candy box I created for CottageCutz and Gina's Designs.

This is just a cheap 1.00 candy box I purchased at the dollar store. I ate the candy. :)
The papers and flowers are from the "Purple Haze" Scraps of Darkness kit.

I used the CottageCutz "Tea Time Doily" "Greenery" and "Leafy Foilage" dies. I love these dies. They gave this heart box a soft romantic feel.
For the chipboard I used the cupid, hearts and part of the XOXO in the Gina's Designs "Build a Layout Romance" collection. The chipboard was coated with a layer of gesso then embossed with gold powder. I used a musical note stamp and embossed that.

I added some punching around the edges to finish off the sides of the box. I also dyed some lace with Tattered Angels Mist and added that around the center as well.

If you are a candy maker you could make your own chocolates and give them as a gift to your sweetie in a beautiful box like this one. Or make the box for yourself and hand it to your husband and ask him to fill it with jewels for you. :)

Lisa, your box looks terrific! I love that you altered and repurposed your candy box! I hate throwing away good stuff. You decorated it beautifully. I might just make one and give to my boyfriend with a note inside asking him to return it full of jewelry ;-)
