Perpetual Calendar
****************************
Hi Everyone! Today I have a big project to share with you! This is one of the dimensional products from Gina's Designs a "Perpetual Style Calendar"
This product is very sturdy made from hardboard and on it's own has a nice brown finish to it. If you wanted to leave some of the hardboard exposed it would look lovely as is.
I chose to cover mine is some beautiful floral papers from K & Company. I used my signature traits of punching as my embellishment work on this piece.
I also used one of the birds from the "Birds and Flourishes Shape Set"
I used some of the Tim Holtz Ideology metal box feet on mine. They were originally a silver color. I had used a metallic gold paint on my calendar around the edges of the box and wanted the feet to match. I used a Zig marker that works on metal in a gold color and colored my silver feet in the gold. Then I used a Patina paint to add - well- patina!
I used more of the "Birds and Flourishes" shape set by Gina on the back. I painted my bird in acrylics, yellow and white and then covered it crackle medium. I then inked it in walnut distress ink.
Here is a little close up of the bird.
Here is a peek at what the box looks like without the cards in it. I painted in gesso then misted it with Lindys in a brown. The edges were all inked in Walnut Distress Ink then painted with a touch of gold here and there. I then stamped inside the box with a crackle stamp.
Here are what all the cards look like. I like a coordinating look so I used the beautiful K & Company papers front and backsides. I did all the fronts the same for the month, then choose another paper for the backs. I did all the days of the week in one paper and the backs in another. I kept the number papers all the same. I again used a patina paint and colored the chipboard months, days and numbers in that.
This was a really fun project and Gina has just added a host of new products like this to her store. Many desk items to choose from and of great quality!
Happy Crafting!
